Alex Rodriguez reacts to T-Wolves’ Anthony Edwards not knowing who he is

Alex Rodriguez apparently has some work to do in introducing himself to some members of the Minnesota Timberwolves amid purchasing the NBA franchise, as one of the team’s biggest stars doesn’t even know who the former MLB superstar is.

A-Rod, along with Walmart’s former e-commerce CEO Marc Lore, have agreed in principle to purchase the Timberwolves from longtime owner Glen Taylor for $1.5 billion. As the two familiarize themselves with the organization, word has predictably spread among the team’s players that a change in ownership is coming.

In a hilarious interview Tuesday, T-Wolves rookie and budding phenom Anthony Edwards revealed that he’s somehow unfamiliar with who exactly A-Rod is.

“I don’t know who that is,” Edwards said. “I know he’s going to be our owner, but I don’t know nothing about baseball.”

Not missing a beat, Rodriguez had some fun with the awkward situation by introducing himself to Edwards on social media.

The social media chicanery continued thanks to Edwards, who took to Instagram to respond to Rodriguez introducing himself.

Something tells me a friendship may be blossoming between A-Rod and Edwards, who is all of 19 years old and was quite young when A-Rod hung up his cleats for good before becoming an ESPN MLB talking head on “Sunday Night Baseball.”

Setting aside Edwards’ unfamiliarity with Rodriguez, who of course is one of the biggest personalities in the world of sports, having the former MLB player assume ownership of the Timberwolves will certainly inject some star power and potential prestige to the long-inept NBA franchise.
