NC Dinos parade around gigantic sword after Korean Series win

The NC Dinos of the KBO secured their first-ever Korean Series win early Tuesday morning in U.S. time, and part of the team’s postgame celebration involved showcasing an awesome, not to mention ridiculously gigantic, sword.
The NC Dinos won their first title by defeating the Doosan Bears with a 4-2 victory in Game 6 of the Korean Series. The win capped a remarkable comeback from a 2-1 series deficit, as the Dinos rattled off three straight victories.
As players celebrated the big win, the ginormous sword in question was brought out onto the field.
KBO sword trophy >>>> World Series trophy. In fact, this may rival anything in sports. pic.twitter.com/bQVOgBiVrD

While the Korean Baseball Organization obviously has a trophy of its own that is presented to the every champion, the NC Dinos ownership group interestingly counts among its assets a very popular and successful video game company that played a role in the sword’s genesis.
The NCSoft, the parent company of the NC Dinos, is well-known for their mobile games, including the acclaimed "Lineage" series. One of the biggest items in the game is the big sword (집행검) and it is brought to life in the ceremony. #KBO https://t.co/4v033TpjTx

There are certainly no shortage of revered trophies in the world of sports, in North America and elsewhere. Lord Stanley’s Cup of course immediately comes to mind. That being said, “The Big Sword” is without question among the coolest things a championship-winning team has ever paraded around a playing surface upon winning a coveted and much-deserved title.
Congrats to the NC Dinos on their championship and the plunders from their victory.
