Giannis Antetokounmpo appearing in ‘The Yard’ mode on ‘Madden 21’
Giannis Antetokounmpo of course is a wildly popular player for gamers who enjoy the “NBA 2K” video game series, but how about playing the “Greek Freek” in “Madden.”
Such an odd scenario is now indeed possible, as EA Sports has announced that the Milwaukee Bucks superstar and back-to-back NBA MVP will be a playable character in “The Yard” mode on “Madden 21.”

As noted in the dispatch from the official Twitter account for “Madden 21,” Giannis isn’t the only Antetokounmpo to make the cut, as brothers Thanasis and Kostis also appear in “The Yard” mode.
Giannis surfaced on social media Thursday to tout his inclusion in the iconic video games series’ unique side-game.

“The Yard” is a “Madden” side mode that features six-on-six games that celebrate the vibe of a backyard football game. There are several new interesting aspects to the mode, including enhanced gameplay featuring “new trick play animations,” the ability to create one’s own avatar, new gear and other associated bells and whistles.
The team behind “Madden” teased updated components coming to “The Yard” before this year’s iteration of the game was released, including new locations, legends, icons and NFL stars. NBA players, at least those wit the last name Antetokounmpo, appear to be part of the new version.
