Kevin Durant to fan calling LeBron James the GOAT: ‘That’s crazy’
Kevin Durant has had some issues with LeBron James in the past, so his perturbed reaction to a random fan hailing the Los Angeles Lakers star as the GOAT during a recent encounter was hardly a surprise.
Durant was out doing some shopping recently when he got into a brief discussion with a fan who stated James is the greatest basketball player of all time. The Brooklyn Nets star’s response?

Durant instead argued that if any basketball player should be touted as the GOAT, it’s Michael Jordan, so we know where he stands in the seemingly endless King James-His Airness debate that has raged for years.
Durant and James are not exactly best pals, and their rivalry came to a head during consecutive NBA Finals showdowns between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. Durant earned back-to-back MVP honors as the Warriors soundly defeated the Cavs in both the 2017 and 2018 Finals.
Draymond Green recently opined that Durant completely changed after feeling slighted following the 2017 NBA Finals because James was still widely hailed as the best basketball player on the planet. Given that aspect of their rivalry, it’s perhaps no surprise that Durant scoffed at the notion that King James is the GOAT.
