First on-field image of Joe Burrow in Bengals uniform shared by team

In a moment that Cincinnati Bengals fans have been waiting on for months, images surfaced on social media of No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow on the practice field Tuesday as training camp gets underway.

The Bengals shared an image on Twitter Tuesday of Burrow loosening up. The image made for the first on-field image of Burrow regaled in his No. 9 Bengals jersey.

More images also surfaced on social media of Burrow getting in his work.

To say that Burrow’s upcoming rookie season is generating a lot of hype among Bengals fans is an understatement. What’s more, Burrow is unquestionably viewed by the Bengals organization and its fans as the kind of transformative talent that can set the long-suffering team back on the path to respectability.

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner put pen to paper last week on a four-year, $36.1 million contract, and such a deal — not to mention being the draft’s top pick — obviously comes with high expectations.

What complicates matters of course is the unprecedented circumstances of Burrow’s entry into the NFL.

However, it turns out that Burrow did much more than just simply rise to the challenge of acclimating himself to the Bengals’ offense despite the coronavirus pandemic upending traditional offseason programs like OTAs and minicamps.

Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan praised Burrow in June for how the 23-year-old quarterback has been “exceptional” while making the best of what the young quarterback admitted himself was an extremely difficult situation.

Now, with Burrow on the field participating in his first NFL training camp, all the attention can turn to just how far he can take the Bengals amid the enormous pressure he’s already under, even before his rookie season offically kicks off.
