LeBron James extremely pumped ahead of Lakers’ first scrimmage

LeBron James can scarcely contain his excitement to get back on the court and compete against opposing players on Thursday night, even if it is only a scrimmage against the Dallas Mavericks.

The exhibition showdown with the Mavs is the Los Angeles Lakers’ first scrimmage in the NBA’s bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. James is clearly pumped for some semblance of real game action, as evidenced by his hyped-up Instagram dispatch on Thursday morning.

Along with a handful of emjois sprinkled in, James’ post reads, “Let’s Get It!! We back at it tonight. Can’t wait and it’s just a scrimmage. Not to me though. Championship mindset at all time!!”

James’ Instagram post Thursday morning follows a dispatch earlier this week in which it’s showcased how the star remained in remarkable shape during the NBA hiatus.

Subsequent reporting has corroborated the above eye test as well.

“Aside from making TikTok videos, word is LeBron has stayed in remarkable shape during the layoff,” ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported. “If anything, the time off should have given him time to heal a nagging groin injury that followed him all season.”

What’s more, J.R Smith recently relayed that James’ focus is sharp as well ahead of next week’s restart.

There has been some speculation that James is receiving preferential treatment inside the NBA bubble, but those rumors have not been substantiated.

That being said, James did liken heading to Orlando to how someone must feel heading to prison, so it stands to reason the Lakers star cannot wait for the season to get underway on July 30. Thursday’s Instagram post reinforces that notion.
