Lakers’ Alex Caruso tweets great line about fan getting married in his jersey
Alex Caruso carved out a nice niche on the Los Angeles Lakers before the NBA season was put on hiatus, and one of the team’s fans has paid tribute to the rising star in quite the unique manner.
The fan in question recently shared on Twitter how he got married with a Caruso jersey hiding underneath his more formal attire.
Did I get married in an @ACFresh21 jersey? I got married in an @ACFresh21 jersey. #Carushow #CarusGoat @ACFRESH21STAN @espn @SportsCenter pic.twitter.com/P9va9Y0Xi8— Hayden (@haydendamico) July 20, 2020
Caruso took notice of the fan’s matrimonial tribute and reacted on Twitter, writing that wearing the jersey alone during the nuptials will result in a “guaranteed successful marriage” before offering his congratulations.
Guaranteed successful marriage.. congrats bro https://t.co/JalX0Ur41B— Alex Caruso (@ACFresh21) July 20, 2020
After going undrafted out of Texas A&M in 2016, Caruso has enjoyed a meteoric rise in his third NBA season. So much so, in fact, that Caruso has practically achieved folk-hero status in L.A., as a mural surfaced in town late last year that pays tribute to one of his high-flying dunks from earlier in the season.
On the court, Caruso is expected to play a significant role in the Lakers’ quest for an NBA title once play resumes on July 30 at the Walt Disney World Resort’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
With Rajon Rondo on the shelf for six to eight weeks after undergoing right thumb surgery and Avery Bradley opting out of playing in the Walt Disney World bubble, Caruso and recently signed J.R. Smith are sure to receive increased minutes during the NBA’s restart in the Orlando, Fla., bubble.
On the season, Caruso is averaging 5.4 points and 1.8 assists in 17.8 minutes per game. It’s on the defensive side of the court, though, where Caruso really shines.
