Mike Tyson ‘very excited’ about upcoming biopic starring Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx has begun preparing in earnest for portraying Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic, and it sounds like the actor has received the seal of approval from the former heavyweight champ.

“He can do a great job I know that,” Tyson said of Foxx in a recent interview, per The Sun.

Foxx, 52, is presently undergoing an incredible physical transformation to portray the iconic musclebound boxer, which the actor recently documented on social media.

Foxx said his workout of 60 pull-ups, 60 dips and 100 press-ups had radically altered his top half but joked: “I ain’t got no legs, I ain’t got no calf muscles so we’re gonna have to get some prosthetics for that.”

It merits noting that Tyson himself has been undertaking a rigorous workout regimen as well amid word of potential return to the ring in some form at the age of 53.

Footage has been surfacing on social media in recent weeks that showcase how arguably the hardest puncher in boxing history remains in remarkably good shape and still possesses impressive speed and power, even at his advanced age.

As far as the upcoming Foxx-starring biopic is concerned, Tyson is eager to see what comes of it.

“I’m very grateful. I’m very excited about it,” Tyson said. “I’m gonna sit down and tell him the truth and he’s gonna have to learn to process that.”

Despite his optimism over Foxx portraying him — which will include some CGI effects to help the process along — Tyson acknowledged the film isn’t likely to be completely flattering given his many missteps, both legally and in his personal life.

“It’s not going to be pretty,” Tyson said.
