Patriots reportedly intend to update uniforms in 2020
The New England Patriots are in the midst of an organizational-altering offseason, and sources indicate the team also intend to usher in a new look in 2020 as well.
The Patriots of course have bid farewell to Tom Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champ who will begin the next chapter of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That stunning development wasn’t the only key personnel change, however, as Stephen Gostkowski, Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins are also no longer with the team.
Those players who will be on the Patriots in the 2020 season, though, will reportedly be donning rebranded versions of their uniforms, according to sources who relayed the news to the Providence Journal.
“We’re told that there won’t be a drastic change and there will be no changes to the Patriots current logo,” Mark Daniels writes. “The team will unveil the new uniforms on their social media platforms next month.”
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, currently still in mourning over Brady’s departure, previously teased the news that Patriots would undergo a uniform overhaul ahead of the 2020 season. In a jokingly framed tweet earlier in March, Edelman shared a Photoshopped image of his head atop the supposedly theoretical new unis.

It remains to be seen exactly what the new Patriots uniforms will look like, but given the massive changes the team has endured this offseason, there is arguably not better time to make this kind of change.
