Kevin Durant shouts out Jackson St. student manager over 3-pointer

The student manager of the Jackson State Tigers men’s basketball team got the chance for his “One Shining Moment” on the basketball court this week, and even one of the NBA’s biggest superstars was left impressed by the young man capitalizing on the opportunity.

Team and fan favorite Thomas “Snacks” Lee has never made it on the court during his tenure as student manager. Everything changed on that front, though, on Monday night.

With the game well in hand against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions in Jackson State’s final home game of the season at Williams Assembly Center, “Snacks” suited up and got the nod with two minutes left in what would be a 76-56 victory.

While Lee missed on his first two three-pointer attempts, he converted on his third, whipping the scene into a frenzy and eliciting an eruption of excitement from those in attendance.

“Snacks” just might be the biggest star in college basketball on Tuesday, and while his fame will likely be a short-lived experience, Lee did receive a shout-out from Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant.

Following a moment he will surely never forget, Lee issued a motivational tweet for anyone out there who doesn’t believe they’ll ever get the chance to shine.

Such an inspirational sentiment could not have been stated any better. Here’s to Snacks.
