Giannis Antetokounmpo blows off Drake’s shenanigans

Toronto Raptors superfan, global ambassador and noted provocateur Drake was up to his old antics on Tuesday night with the Milwaukee Bucks in town for an Eastern Conference Finals rematch, but his attempt at trolling didn’t faze Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks have a well-known pregame routine that involves pro wrestling-related hijinks, so Drake attempted to one-up the team by mockingly strolling into Scotiabank Arena with two WWE title belts in tow.

Antetokounmpo, who finished with 19 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks in a 108-97 victory, clearly was not impressed with Drake’s showmanship. Better put, he claims he didn’t even see it.

“I didn’t notice that. I just found out about it,” Antetokounmpo said. “I’m in the game, I’m just locked-in. I really don’t look at fans and what they do and all that.

“He (Drake) cares about me. I really don’t. I’m just here to win games and help my team win.”

Opposing players have come to expect Drake to antagonistically attempt to get under their skin, so his act presumably doesn’t have much of an impact on them at this point.

Further, this isn’t Giannis’ first rodeo when it comes to Drake’s sideshow shenanigans, so it’s not like the Bucks superstar would have even admitted the rapper had rattled him on the off chance it had occurred.

What’s obviously most important, however, is that Antetokounmpo and the Bucks came out on the winning end. Antetokounmpo even admitted after the game that last season’s series loss was “on my mind” amid the showdown. A bid of attempted trolling out of Drake wasn’t going to distract Giannis and the Bucks from the task at and.
