Tom Brady’s comment on Julian Edelman Instagram post adds intrigue

Tom Brady continues to be active on social media amid endless speculation about his uncertain future, which has only increased conjecture about what comes next for the six-time Super Bowl champion.

Seemingly not content to allow the rumor mill to churn away on its own, Brady recently left a comment on an Instagram post by Julian Edelman that is sure to ramp up scrutiny about a potential return to the New England Patriots.

On Wednesday, Edelman shared a rather innocuous post on Instagram, writing, “Focus on what’s next. Always.”

Brady, as he is wont to do, reacted to his Patriots teammate’s social media musings, and the message he left — not once but twice — is surely to be parsed to no end.

“Get back to the east coast so we can throw,” Brady commented.

Amid Brady stirring the pot on Edelman’s post, things appear to be pointing toward the longtime Patriots signal-caller ending his unparalleled successful two-decade stint with the only NFL organization he’s ever known.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier this week that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is inclined to allow Brady to test free agency when he hits the market for the first time in his NFL career. Further muddying the waters on the Patriots-Brady front is how the parties are said to have made no progress in contract talks.

Reports of course are just that: reports. That being said, it’s often said where there’s smoke, there’s fire, so it stands to reason Brady’s future may be tilting away from it being with the Patriots.

However, if it were up to Edelman — who has made his feelings about Brady amusingly and abundantly clear — his longtime teammate’s offer to head back east for a throwing session is a sign that their partnership in New England is far from over.
