LeBron James sends note, gifts to Buckeyes before Fiesta Bowl
Die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes backer LeBron James did his part to pump up the program ahead of Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl by sending the squad an inspirational note along with Beats by Dre headphones for each player.
In a video shared by the Ohio State football program, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day is shown revealing how the team’s No. 1 celebrity superfan had passed along his best wishes and gifts before Saturday night’s showdown with the Clemson Tigers.
Thank you @KingJames for the holiday gift of @beatsbydre, but more importantly, the motivational words that came with it ‼️ We always appreciate your support!#GoBucks #ToughLove pic.twitter.com/M3tD1lAFoO— Ohio State Football (@OhioStateFB) December 27, 2019
Attached to each package of Beats by Dre headphones was a message from James, which read, “Best of luck men! You guys are here for a reason so just enjoy the moment and make the most of it! Don’t settle for nothing less than greatness! O-H…#GOBUCKS!”
James of course skipped college by going straight from high school to the NBA, but the Ohio native has hinted had he played college hoops, it could have been with the Buckeyes.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been routinely spotted on the sidelines in Columbus at the Horseshoe during marquee Buckeyes games over the years, and his association with the school’s athletics department is strong on both personal and business levels.
