Janoris Jenkins uses derogatory term in tweet to insult fan
Janoris Jenkins used a derogatory term to insult a fan with whom he was having a Twitter spat, all while he was sitting out Wednesday’s practice with the New York Giants.
Jenkins, who was not participating in Wednesday’s session due to an ankle injury, engaged a fan who was criticizing him.
The Giants cornerback started things off by taking to Twitter to share some of his statistics, presumably to highlight how the team’s nine-game losing streak isn’t on him.

50 total tackles
3 tds given up n week 3
Talk about that..
Jenkins’ tweets elicited a response from a fan, who asked how those statistics have not translated into wins. Jenkins replied by calling the fan an offensive term.
“I can only do my job.. retard,” Jenkins tweeted.
Giants head coach Pat Shurmur, who finds himself firmly on the hot seat alongside general manager Dave Gettleman, unsurprisingly wasn’t pleased to learn of Jenkins’ social media activity.
“I was just made aware of it as I was going through the injury report, and he shouldn’t be tweeting during practice,” Shurmur said, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Jenkins was not in the locker room Wednesday during media availability.
The Giants’ season has been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster, one that is likely to result in a massive shakeup in the front office as well as on the coaching staff.
Jenkins without question is the team’s top corner, but in a season filled with disappointment, the Giants can scarcely tolerate these kind of unnecessary distractions.
