Doug Pederson guarantees Eagles will beat Cowboys in Week 7

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a humbling loss in Minneapolis to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but Doug Pederson believes the team will fare much better in their next road test in Week 7 in Arlington, Texas.

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Eagles at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night, and Pederson on Monday morning guaranteed a much-needed victory.

“I know the sky is falling outside. It’s falling and I get that and the fans are reeling just a little bit. We’re going down to Dallas, our guys are gonna be ready to play. And we’re gonna win that football game and when we do we’re in first place in the NFC East,” Pederson told SportsRadio WIP. “We’re going to control our own destiny and be right where we need to be.

“Has it been perfect, beautiful and all that? No. All we got to do is try to be 1-0 this week, beat the Dallas Cowboys, and we’re in first place. They’re reeling too. They’re struggling too. They dropped their last three games so this will be an exciting football game.”

As Pederson noted in his comments, both the Eagles and Cowboys head into their divisional showdown Sunday reeling and coming off demoralizing setbacks. The Eagles were throttled by the Vikings by a score of 38-20, and the Cowboys lost 24-22 to the previously winless New York Jets, the team’s third consecutive loss after starting the season 3-0.

The Eagles and Cowboys are both in dire need of a win in Week 7. With the two squads sitting at 3-3, the winner will assume some semblance of control in the NFC East, a division that already is shaping up as a two-horse race with the Giants and Redskins mired in mediocrity, if not a worse state.
