Cardi B to name upcoming album ‘Tiger Woods’
Cardi B is apparently putting the finishing touches on her upcoming album, and she has turned to one of the best sports stories of 2019 as inspiration for its title.
The rapper, singer and songwriter shared in an Instagram Live dispatch on Thursday that she plans on naming her new album “Tiger Woods.” Cardi B explains in the video that Woods’ winning performance at the Masters earlier this year to secure his fifth green jacket inspired her.

“Everything I’m working on right now is straight to my album,” Cardi B said on Instagram Live, per ESPN. “And I think I’m going to name my album ‘Tiger Woods.'”
OK, but why?
“Because, remember when everybody was talking s— on Tiger Woods, like ‘Oh blah blah, blah blah this, blah blah that.'” she said in the video. “And then he f—ing came and won that green jacket? That’s what I’m going to name my album.”
Woods’ win at Augusta National was seemingly an improbable one in light of the long and arduous road to recovery the golfer has had to navigate amid myriad surgical procedures and rehab over the past few years, not to mention a case of the yips that plagued him for a stretch.
While Woods was unable to capitalize on the momentum generated by his 81st PGA Tour win and 18th major victory as the season wore on, seeing the icon emotionally raise his arms in triumph on the 18th green at Augusta given what he has endured made it among the greatest scenes in sport in recent memory.
So much so, in fact, that it even motivated Cardi B to name her new album in honor of the legend.
