Dak Prescott downplays ‘spicy nuggets’ huddle chatter
Dak Prescott had himself a viral moment in Week 3 when he was caught chatting about spicy chicken nuggets in the huddle during last Sunday’s game in which the Dallas Cowboys breezed to an easy 31-6 win over the hapless Miami Dolphins.
The fact that Prescott felt comfortable enough to casually mention how Wendy’s has brought back its spicy nuggets showcased how the Cowboys signal-caller and his teammates were firmly in control of a laugher of a game.

“Oh, spicy nuggets are back,” Prescott told his Cowboys teammates in the huddle. “I might have to stop on the way home.”
Prescott was asked Thursday about the now-viral moment, and the Cowboys quarterback shrugged off the notion that he was angling for an endorsement deal with Wendy’s.
“No, I don’t worry about those things during the season,” Prescott said, via ESPN.
Prescott did mention this week that his cravings came out of nowhere and ultimately were not satiated.
“I think I just saw an ad and said it,” Prescott said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “Unfortunately, didn’t get the nuggets.
Prescott was not about to get away with his spicy nuggets chatter without some teasing from his teammates, though. Tight end Jason Witten speculated that Prescott’s people are already making things happen on the Wendy’s front.
“I’m sure his agents are probably working to get a deal done right there,” Witten said. “Capitalize on the opportunity, you know? I don’t think he’s gotten enough there. … Pass them down to the rest of us, you know?”
Witten went on to praise the young quarterback over how his spicy nuggets talk showcased how cool, calm and collected Prescott is on the field.
“Listen, [he has the] ability to lock in and then keep a little bit of personality. … He’s relaxed, he’s calm out there,” Witten said. “I believe he prepares during the week and then he doesn’t overthink it when he gets in those moments.”
