Browns release ‘Friends’ parody starring Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry

The Cleveland Browns are again riding high thanks to a blowout 23-3 win over the New York Jets, and the team’s social media squad released an amusing “Friends” parody late Monday evening in celebration.

The video opens with the iconic “Friends” logo mimicked to read “B • R • O • W • N • S,” along with the earworm of a theme song. It stars Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, along with fellow Browns players Joel Bitonio, Damarious Randall, Denzel Ward and JC Tretter.

The video features all the trademark visuals from the original “Friends” intro, from the stars goofing off and being silly while being introduced to the lamp, sofa and fountain, although ice bath tubs served as a replacement water feature.

The clever video even received a shout out from the official Twitter account of “Friends.”

Who knew a television show that hasn’t aired since 2004 — outside of syndication, Netflix and the like, of course — needed its own official Twitter account?

Back to the Browns, though. Things looked pretty bleak for the team after the Browns were thoroughly outplayed at home in a demoralizing 43-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. The undermanned and reeling Jets provided the perfect antidote, and now the Browns obviously are feeling pretty good about themselves again.

In other words, if this “Friends” parody was already in the can and ready to roll ahead of the season, the Browns were wise to sit on it for a bit in light of the team failing to show up in Week 1. But now? Let that theme song by The Rembrandts stick in the head of every Browns fan, much to their assumed dismay.
