Ezekiel Elliott spotted on practice field with Cowboys teammates
It was a long time coming, but Ezekiel Elliott at long last joined his Dallas Cowboys teammates on the practice field on Wednesday for the first time in quite awhile.
Following a protracted and occasionally contentious holdout, Elliott and the Cowboys finally came to terms on a six-year, $90 million extension that includes $50 million guaranteed. The Cowboys were all too happy to share footage of their superstar running back putting pen to paper.

Later, in a scene Cowboys fans — not to mention the team’s players, coaching staff and front office — have been eagerly anticipating, Elliott strolled out onto the practice field in full pads.

NFL Network’s Jane Slater later shared an image of Elliott participating in warmups alongside his teammates.
Ezekiel Elliott returns to the field with teammates for the first time in 83 days. HC Jason Garrett says he’s in “good shape”. No conditioning run but will rely on Zeke/staff to be open & honest about how he looks/feels ahead of Sunday. The Cowboys intend to use Elliott in a relatively limited role in Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants in light of the running back’s extended absence, perhaps only 20-25 reps, according to Slater.
That said, the safe assumption is that any amount of Elliott will be most welcome after such an acrimonious past few months, though it’s now clear that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is far past any lingering resentment.
