Browns fan gets inked with ‘SUPERBOWL CHAMPS LIV’ tattoo

It’s happened. A Cleveland Browns fan clearly pumped over all the hype surrounding his favorite NFL team went and did the unthinkable: He got himself inked with a tattoo predicting the Browns will be crowned champions at the conclusion of the 2019 season.

Evidence of the Browns fan’s arguably ill-advised tattoo has surfaced on social media. The ink touts the Browns as “SUPERBOWL CHAMPS LIV,” which predicts the team will hoist the Lombardi Trophy after the big game is played on Feb. 2, 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

It merits pointing out that “Super Bowl” is smushed into one word instead of two, an amusing and unfortunately uncorrectable mistake. Also, keen-eyed observers on Twitter astutely made note of how the tattoo features an older version of the Browns helmet logo, which, while a bit nit-picky, is nevertheless correct.

The buzz around the Browns has reached a fever pitch heading into the 2019 season thanks to the rising-star status of Baker Mayfield and the arrival of superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Still, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens insists all the “noise” surrounding the team will not distract the players. It will be interesting to monitor how that all plays out over the course of the season.

All that said, this seemingly overconfident Browns fan is of course not the first person to predict a championship with ink, nor will he be the last. Of course, the occasions when tattoos, predictions and sports intersect are always amusing.

It goes without saying that predictive tattoos can be seriously risky business. Just ask this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy, as their respective boastful tattoo predictions didn’t pan out for them at all.
