Tom Brady aiming for fourth No. 1 in NFL Network player rankings

The NFL Network revealed the top 10 vote-getters in its annual player rankings on Tuesday night, and with Tom Brady’s inclusion, the possibility exists for the New England Patriots quarterback to yet again snag the No. 1 spot.

The “Top 100 Players of 2019” — as voted on by the players — will be announced on Wednesday night on NFL Network, but posted the 10 players vying for the top spot, in alphabetical order, ahead of the big show.

» Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots
» Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints
» Antonio Brown, WR, Oakland Raiders
» Aaron Donald, DT, Los Angeles Rams
» Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams
» Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
» Khalil Mack, OLB, Chicago Bears
» Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
» Von Miller, OLB, Denver Broncos
» Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers

Should Brady claim the No. 1 spot in the player rankings — and it stands to reason it is a distinct possibility that he will do so — it would mark the third straight season the superstar signal-caller has landed atop the “Top 100 Players” list and the fourth time overall.

However, it should go without saying that Brady faces some serious competition for the top spot, with Kansas City Chiefs gunslinger Patrick Mahomes presumably providing the stiffest challenge to his remarkable run of topping the list.

That said, all 10 players without question boast fantastic résumés, although given the indisputable importance of quarterback in the NFL, odds are someone who plays the position will be the top vote-getter.
