Kevin Durant spotted in public for first time since signing with Nets
A rare Kevin Durant sighting occurred in New York this week, marking the first time the superstar has been spotted in public since signing with the Brooklyn Nets.
Durant, still recovering from surgery on a ruptured right Achilles, was seen exiting a SoHo hotel with the aid of his trusty knee scooter, a piece of equipment that has been part and parcel of the superstar’s comings and goings since he originally suffered the injury.

Durant created quite a bit of fanfare with his outings in New York in June, and the fact it’s been several weeks since he’s been spotted in public certainly means his latest scooter-aided appearance will do the same.
While it’s expected that Durant will miss the entire 2019-20 NBA season, the Nets nevertheless signed the former MVP to a four-year, $164 million deal. He’ll be joined in Brooklyn by pal and fellow newcomer Kyrie Irving, a partnership that was long believed to be an inevitability.
Nets general manager Sean Marks declined to rule out the superstar suiting up at some point this season, though odds of that actually coming to fruition are slim. For now, however, simply seeing Durant tooling around SoHo is a welcome sight.
