Six-year-old ‘Coach Drake’ suffers hilarious meltdown after ejection

A six-year-old boy known only as “Coach Drake” is turning into quite the celebrity thanks to his appearances during Kalamazoo Growlers games. His hilariously epic meltdown during Monday’s game after he was ejected will only add to the youngster’s growing legend.

The Growlers, based in Kalamazoo, Mich., play in the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate outfit. After the end of the sixth inning of Monday’s tilt with the Wisconsin Woodchucks, “Coach Drake” absolutely lost it while arguing a call.

The meltdown included throwing bats out of the dugout after the umpire sent him packing. Later, “Coach Drake” chucks a bunch of baseballs out on the field as well. A theatrical spike of his hat puts the finishing touches on his amusingly outrageous temper tantrum.

The antics of “Coach Drake” obviously have all the hallmarks of a gimmick typical of lower-level league baseball teams — and the Growlers are not averse to such bits — but that does not take away from how expertly the little tyke executes the bit to perfection.

Given this is the second instance of “Coach Drake” increasing his internet fame, odds are the wacky routines will continue.
