Anthony Davis on being NBA 2K20 cover athlete: ‘A dream come true’
Anthony Davis is a cover athlete for an NBA 2K edition for the second time in his career, but he says being a solo athlete instead of sharing the cover is a “dream come true.”
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar attended an event Tuesday at Microsoft Lounge in Culver City, Calif., where the NBA 2K20 cover featuring himself alone was unveiled.

When Davis appeared on the NBA 2K16 cover, he shared the honor with Stephen Curry and James Harden. This makes the upcoming new edition of the video game series that much more flattering.
#Lakers’ star Anthony Davis calls it a dream come true to be on the cover of NBA 2K20 – “It feels amazing. It’s a kid’s dream, a dream come true… It’s a blessing. Player rankings for NBA2K20 were revealed earlier this week, and Davis sat atop the big men rankings.

2) @JoelEmbiid 9⃣1⃣
3) Nikola Jokic 9⃣0⃣
4) @KarlTowns 8⃣9⃣
5) @RudyGobert27 8⃣8⃣
“I was a 94 last year,” Davis said of his ranking, via Silver Screen and Roll. “Obviously, with the stuff that happened last season, I didn’t get to play as much and that’s why I kind of figured [my rating] wouldn’t go up as much, but like I said — I’m going to be the first 100.”
However, even if Davis does reach a 100 overall rating, he won’t pick up a controller and play as himself: “I would never play with the Lakers. I don’t like playing with myself on 2K.”
According to Davis, personal rankings are extremely important to NBA players.
“Players care about it a lot,” Davis said. “It means a lot to them.”
