Kevin Durant cruising NYC on knee scooter after surgery
Kevin Durant is still in New York after undergoing surgery on his ruptured right Achilles tendon, and the superstar was spotted about town this week.
In a photograph posted to Instagram on Wednesday by brother Tony, a smiling Durant is shown rolling around SoHo with the assistance of a knee scooter.
To no surprise, Durant’s uncertain NBA future continues to be among the predominant storylines early on this offseason. Even with the belief that he’ll miss the entire 2019-20 season, Durant nevertheless remains one of the hottest commodities on the looming free agent market.
The fact that Durant is still in New York nearly two weeks after surgery perhaps has more to do with mobility and follow-up visits with doctors than anything else. However, the latest buzz centers around the belief that Durant may end up with one of the NBA’s New York-based teams one way or another certainly will inspire chatter.
Durant is believed to prefer the Knicks as his next team should he leave the Golden State Warriors — a generally accepted notion — though there’s been indications he may be just as interested in joining forces with one of his pals on the Nets.
Everything of course remains up in the air as it relates to Durant’s future, and as one league executive put it, the enigmatic superstar is likely to “change his mind at least 25 times before he actually does it.”
In the meantime, Durant looks perfectly content just scooting around Manhattan with his brother.
