Chris Paul to appear in upcoming ‘Scooby Doo’ episode

Chris Paul will appear in an upcoming episode of the animated program “Scooby Doo and Guess Who?”, and a preview of his cartoon cameo has been released.

The Houston Rockets superstar portrays himself in the debut episode of the new series starring Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the Mystery Machine gang in which “A Panel Of Case Cracking Celebrity Stars” will be featured. The series will be streamed on, with the first episode premiering online on June 27.

The episode is described as follows:

“Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang meet up with basketball legend and bowling aficionado Chris Paul at a golf tournament fundraiser held in Florida. Shaggy’s come to caddy for Mr. Paul and help him with this game so the Assist King can save a local school from going under. But when a horrible Swamp Monster attacks trying to destroy the charity event, our heroes and Mr. Paul must finish the tournament and save the school, and possibly their own lives!”

Interestingly, CP3 has served as a host at a handful of golf tournaments over the years and is indeed an avid bowler, so how he’s portrayed in the episode is quite accurate.

This is not Paul’s first go-round in show business, either. While most of his IMDb credits are related appearances on talk shows, game shows and the like, Paul did make a cameo a few years back on the Disney Channel program “Jessie.”

Paul has been in the headlines recently over rumors he demanded a trade from the Rockets due to a deteriorating relationship with James Harden, something the superstar has denied on multiple occasions. News of his “Scooby Doo” cameo is definitely not on the same level of seriousness, and definitely makes for an amusing aside amid all the drama.
