Pete Alonso has odd response to bizarre question about aliens
Pete Alonso is enjoying an out-of-this-world rookie campaign with the New York Mets, and the young phenom’s strange response to a wacky question about extraterrestrials was downright spacey.
Following the Mets’ 10-4 victory over the crosstown-rival New York Yankees on Wednesday night, ESPN’s Kenny Mayne asked Alonso about aliens for some reason, specifically due to how the rookie spent some time playing for the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas.
“We can all agree that aliens are real, you played (one season) for the Las Vegas 51s (Triple-A), now known as the Aviators,” said ESPN’s Kenny Mayne, via the New York Post. “Did you ever see anything weird out there in Las Vegas?”
Many would struggle with such a retort. Not Alonso.
“You just kind of get used to it,” said Alonso, the “it” unclear.
“Driving down there you see something weird everyday,” he added. “Eventually, you just kind of put the blockers on and kind of get used to it after a while.”

What makes Alonso’s response so odd is how he did not really say one way or the other if he had in fact ever witnessed any alien activity during his time in the desert. It seems like a pretty straightforward question, however bizarre, so Alonso’s cagey reply lends itself to the notion that the slugger may have something to hide.
One thing is certain, however, despite Alonso’s evasive retort regarding his possible experiences with extraterrestrial phenomena: The truth is out there.
