J.J. Watt cracks joke about having open bar at his wedding
J.J. Watt proposed to longtime girlfriend Kealia Ohai in late May, and the Houston Texans superstar already has made one specific aspect of the wedding reception a must-have: An open bar.
Watt and Ohai have been dating for three years, and while no date for the nuptials have been set — “We’re not in any rush,” Ohai says — Watt knows free drinks at the bar is practically a compulsory reception rule.
“It’s open bar for everybody,” Watt said this week, via Houston’s ABC-13. “It’s the only way to make a good wedding.”
Watt later made a joke on Twitter about how being a native of Wisconsin made an open bar a necessity while also sharing a pic of himself that shows what “will be my face when I see the final bill for the open bar.”

Watt added how surprised he was over all the support he and Ohai received after going public with their engagement.

“All the people that I’ve never met, reaching out and sending their best wishes. It’s great,” Watt said. “It’s awesome that people can kind of see that and we appreciate all the kind words and well wishes that everybody sent.”
