A-Rod jokes about infamous bathroom pic scandal
Alex Rodriguez recently had his privacy violated when someone snapped a photograph of him sitting on the toilet, but it appears he’s more interested in cracking self-deprecating jokes over the incident than anything.
Last month, an unscrupulous-but-still-unidentified individual took a photo of A-Rod sitting on the toilet in his Manhattan apartment. The assumption is it was snapped from the office of a Manhattan hedge fund company across the street, but the fact the bathroom blinds were open left Rodriguez awkwardly exposed.
A-Rod’s high-powered legal team was said to be “all over” the situation in an effort to I.D. the person who took the pic, and it was believed a lawsuit would be in the offing.
During an appearance Monday on FOX5’s “Good Day New York,” Rodriguez dismissed the likelihood of any legal action. He also joked about how new window treatments may be appropriate.
“I’m certainly not suing,” A-Rod said, via Page Six. “The one thing is, I actually do my best thinking there! I wasn’t ready for the picture. It is what it is … I have to invest in some good blinds, and I think I am.”
Rodriguez, who added an investigation is still ongoing, went on to make the case it was far better that he was caught in the uncompromising position as opposed to fiancée Jennifer Lopez or the children the two A-listers brought into their relationship.
“It’s really a weird thing,” Rodriguez said. “But I’m happier that it was me [rather than] my better half or one of the children.”
It’s admirable that Rodriguez is maintaining a good sense of humor over the incident. That said, A-Rod — who seems incapable of getting out of his own way at times — could have avoided the awkward situation entirely by simply closing the blinds in his bathroom, something he astutely alluded to himself.
