Blake Griffin thanks fans on IG, shakes hands with media members at presser
Blake Griffin has wrapped up his first full season with the Detroit Pistons, and the superstar closed out the campaign with a lot of class despite it ending in disappointment.
The Pistons managed to qualify for the postseason, but their time in the playoffs was short-lived, as a decisive first-round sweep at the hands of the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Bucks was completed on Monday.
Griffin held an end-of-season press conference Tuesday, and after it was finished, he made sure to shake the hand of each and every media member in attendance.

The Pistons did not stand much of a chance against the high-powered Bucks, as Griffin was sidelined with a left knee injury in Games 1 and 2 but did give his best effort in the series’ final two games.
To add to Tuesday’s demonstration of class, Griffin also took to Instagram to share a note of appreciation to Pistons fans for all their support this season, assuring them “we will continue to lay the foundation to bring this franchise back to where it belongs.”

detroit, not how we wanted it to end but i wanted to say thank you for the support all season long. this year was just the beginning for us. we will continue to lay the foundation to bring this franchise back to where it belongs. you all were incredible and showed up in a big big way when we needed you the most. thank you for embracing me and our team. can’t wait to get back to work #detroitbasketball
Griffin has three years left on the five-year, $173 million contract he signed with the Clippers before his trade to the Pistons on Jan. 29, 2018. With thoughtful acts like those on Tuesday, Griffin certainly is doing an admirable job of endearing himself to the fans and the city of Detroit.
