Josh Rosen makes bold statement about future amid trade rumors

Josh Rosen’s future with the Arizona Cardinals is uncertain at best, and the quarterback recently broke his silence and made a bold statement about what he intends to do however things play out.

The buzz around the Cardinals ever since Kliff Kingsbury was hired as head coach has been centered around whether or not the team will use the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to select Kyler Murray. Kingsbury is known to be enamored with the former Sooners superstar despite Rosen’s presence.

While the belief is Rosen is likely as good as gone, Kingsbury has gone out of his way to praise the 10th pick from last year’s draft. The Cardinals organization has also been cagey up to and including this week about what it intends to do at the quarterback position, despite mounting evidence pointing to Rosen ultimately getting traded and the team drafting Murray.

Making matters worse for Rosen in that regard is how the Cardinals awkwardly left him out of a hype video the team shared on Wednesday.

The Cardinals/Murray angle could be a case of the patented pre-draft gamesmanship all NFL teams attempt to execute. Either way, in a recent interview with SI TV, Rosen boldly lays out his plan of action, whether he remains with the Cardinals or not.

“I definitely understand the situation,” Rosen said. “I mean, it’s annoying but, like, it is what it is. Football’s a business, and I definitely the higher-ups and their decisions. Whatever decisions are made, it’s my duty to prove them right if they keep me, and prove them wrong if they ship me off.”

Rosen certainly has been put in a tough spot with the rampant trade rumors and ongoing speculation regarding his future. The hint of defiance in his comments to SI TV arguably show that regardless things shake out, he’s extremely motivated to prove himself either way.
