‘We Bel31ve’ shirt trolls Warriors over Clippers’ historic comeback
The Golden State Warriors blew a 31-point lead in historic fashion to lose Game 2 in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, and a new t-shirt savagely trolls the team over the epic collapse.
The Warriors had Game 2 well in hand midway through the third quarter, but inexplicably allowed the Clippers to get back into the game. When it was all said and done, the Warriors were on the wrong end of the largest comeback in NBA postseason history, losing by a score of 135-131.
Now, a shirt is available that rubs some serious salt in the Warriors’ wounds. Bearing the message, “We Believe,” the shirt switches out the “i” and “e” with the numbers 3 and 1 in reference to the monumental comeback.

A -point comeback against the champs—in the playoffs and on the road, no less—was no problem for Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley and the boys. #WearTheMoment

Interestingly, 3 and 1 were already haunting numbers in the Warriors’ otherwise storied postseason legacy. Golden State of course held a 3-1 series lead in the 2016 NBA Finals only to stunningly lose to the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers. James later trolled the Warriors over the blown series edge at an infamous Halloween party later that year.
While the Clippers have every right to celebrate how they wrote their names in the NBA’s playoff history books, the team still stands seemingly long odds in a bid to eliminate the Warriors in a series that stands tied at one game apiece heading into Thursday’s Game 3 at Staples Center.
For now, though, “We Bel31ve” is a fitting enough slogan for Clippers fans. Warriors backers, on the other hand, are justifiably unhappy over Game 2’s shocking outcome.
