Baltimore bars tying promos to Chris Davis snapping historic slump
Chris Davis is mired in a protracted slump of historic proportions, and a handful of Baltimore bars have come up with promotions tied to Orioles first baseman snapping the inexplicable slide.

Davis has been held hitless in his first 32 at-bats this season, but his run of futility at the plate goes back to last season. The slumping slugger has not had a hit since Sept. 14, 2018 and is 0-for-53 overall since, which now stands as an obviously unwanted MLB record.
With fans in Baltimore eagerly awaiting Davis to just get one hit, local bars Lee’s Pint & Shell, Power Plant Live and Hair of the Dog, among others, intend to hold giveaways once he breaks the streak.
Lee’s Pint & Shell will have an open bar for two hours immediately upon Davis’ first hit of the season.
Power Plant Live announced via Twitter that between 1,000 and 1,500 Smirnoff Orange Crushes are on the line.
It's been a crushless season & we are over the wait! We want our Crush Davis back! When he breaks his hitless streak we will be ready to celebrate! We will give away 1,000 Smirnoff Orange Crushes on the Friday after his first hit & 1,500 crushes if it's a home run! #Ibackthebirds pic.twitter.com/ZKma0hQnTs

Hair of the Dog, meanwhile, will be giving out free corn dogs, of all things.
Davis went 0-for-3 in Thursday’s 8-5 loss to the Oakland Athletics. His next opportunity to break the baffling hitless slump comes Friday night against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
