Mike Scott, Frank Kaminsky close season with ‘The Office’-themed attire

The NBA wrapped up a thrilling regular season on Wednesday night, and two players ended their respective campaigns by rocking attire in tribute of beloved NBC series “The Office.”

Mike Scott, who essentially shares a name with self-described “World’s Best Boss,” Michael Scott, showed up for the Philadelphia 76ers season finale wearing a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins jersey featuring “From Dwight” on its nameplate.

The reference is to the Season 2 episode, “Michael’s Birthday,” in which then-Assistant to the Regional Manager Dwight Schrute ruined his gift to Michael by placing “From Dwight” as the nameplate on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins sweater. A classic reference out of Sixer Scott, to be sure.

Scott was not the only NBA player feeling “The Office” Wednesday, as Charlotte Hornets’ Frank Kaminsky was also spotted sporting gear celebrating the show.

Kaminsky rocked some custom Chris Paul kicks that featured illustrations of both Dwight and Michael’s incarceration-lesson character, “Prison Mike,” from the Season 3 episode, “The Convict.”

No word on whether or not Kaminsky’s sneakers could ward off Dementors.

Kaminsky’s shoes also featured the classic Wayne Gretzky quote, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” which Michael once attributed to “The Great One” … before crediting himself for the line.

Kaminsky finished the Hornets’ 122-114 loss to the Orlando Magic with only nine points and one rebound in 19 minutes of action. If he’s superstitious — or like Michael Scott, maybe just a “little stitious,” perhaps he’ll decline to wear “The Office” sneakers again.
