Drew Brees jokes about NFC title game drama in new commercial
The New Orleans Saints will never forget their controversial loss in the NFC Championship Game, and Drew Brees made it abundantly clear, albeit in a humorous manner, that he still recalls the events of that day all too well.
The inexplicably blown pass interference call late in the Saints’ 26-23 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC title game will go down in infamy as one of biggest officiating gaffes in NFL history.
While Brees has previously addressed the missed-call scandal in a more serious and candid manner, the Saints signal-caller has recently taken a humorous approach to the controversy in a new commercial for UNTUCKit.
Brees, an investor and brand ambassador for the men’s apparel line, makes a brief cameo in a new spot for the company that premiered Tuesday. In it, Brees shows up at the end of the 30-second spot. After walking by a man on the street wearing an UNTUCKit shirt, Brees slyly states, “At least somebody made the right call.”

There has been no shortage of outrage over how things played out for the Saints in the NFC Championship Game; from irate fans creatively articulating their despair to gallows-humor remarks from head coach Sean Payton.
Laughter, it is said, is the best medicine, however. So, perhaps the fact Brees is now taking a more lighthearted approach to the situation as opposed to continuing to harbor bitterness can inspire “Who Dat Nation” to do the same. Odds are that will not be the case, though.
