Baker Mayfield after sneak peek of Browns’ new unis: ‘Those are sweet’
The Cleveland Browns recently announced that the 2019 season will be the final one for the team’s current uniforms. Baker Mayfield was provided a sneak peek this week of the unis the team will don beginning in 2020, and the budding superstar quarterback was left impressed.
In a video posted to the Browns’ official Twitter account, Mayfield is shown reviewing the various iterations — home, road, Color Rush — of prototypes of the Browns’ upcoming uniforms, all of which were of course just offscreen.

“I like it,” the quarterback said of the mockup of the new road uni on a video posted to the Browns’ Twitter page, via Cleveland.com. Mayfield didn’t have a reaction when shown another design — presumably the home uniform — after a Browns employee told him they wanted “keep those a surprise and not tell anybody about that.”
Mayfield then took a look at the new Color Rush uniforms and said, “Those are sweet.”
While the video provides no clue as to what direction the Browns may be headed with the new uniforms, the organization has pledged “nothing fancy” is in the offing.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam added in a team announcement that the upcoming uniforms will not add any new colors to the scheme. Instead, the Browns will be “embracing the team’s rich tradition and its unique distinction as the only NFL franchise with orange and brown as its two primary colors,” according to the statement.
“Yeah, I think they’re making great progress on it,” Browns owner Dee Haslam said. “I think we got it right this time.”
