Kevin Durant surprised T-Wolves fans with pizza delivery to hotel room

Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors dispatched the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night with a 117-107 victory at the Target Center, but the superstar arguably still looked like a hero to some hometown team fans thanks to a generous postgame gesture.

Durant apparently ran into someone in a hotel elevator and proceeded to deliver pizzas to some young fans in a nearby room. A father in the room later tweeted out evidence of Durant’s completely random pop-in.

It’s not quite clear from the video nor the Bleacher Report’s post on the awesome gesture who exactly Durant met in the elevator, but it presumably was the individual who recorded the video. Further, it’s not known whether or not Durant actually paid for the pizza or merely delivered it.

Not that such trivialities matter, of course, as the young basketball fans were clearly thrilled by their brush with NBA greatness.

Durant certainly has endured a fair share of criticism over the past few seasons since becoming a so-called villain by joining the Warriors.

Durant has also further established his antihero persona this season thanks to his surly disposition toward the media, something that has been a source of considerable discussion and debate. Some tense interactions with fans haven’t helped matters, either.

All that said, it’s important to balance the bad press Durant receives by taking note of the thoughtful and selfless act he performed Tuesday night. By doing so, a fuller and more accurate portrayal of the mercurial superstar is arguably provided, not that such instances of kindness will alter the perception of his most committed detractors.
