Tom Brady recruiting retired Martellus Bennett on Instagram
Tom Brady is known for making an appearance from time to time in comments sections of Instagram posts, and the latest such occurrence involved the New England Patriots superstar quarterback recruiting a retired player who was once his teammate.
The Patriots acquired Michael Bennett from the Philadelphia Eagles last week via trade, and it led to speculation that former tight end Martellus Bennett, who retired ahead of the 2018 season, may come out of retirement to join his brother.
In an Instagram post celebrating the arrival of Michael Bennett, Brady commented that he would be all-in on Martellus Bennett returning to the fold.

Martellus Bennett originally arrived in New England in 2016 in a trade with the Chicago Bears. During that season, he put up great numbers with 55 receptions for 701 yards and seven touchdowns.
Bennett then left the Patriots to sign with the Green Bay Packers, only to return to New England during the 2017 season under controversial circumstances after being picked up off waivers. He would only appear in two games before announcing his retirement on March 23, 2018.
All that said — and despite Brady’s social media-based recruiting pitch — it appears a Bennett brother reunion in New England is not to be.

It'd be great, but, it's probably "fake news," says Bennett. pic.twitter.com/jY5OM1FBo5
Well, it was at least worth the effort. After all, how long does it take to type “Yes please! Now come on” before tagging Martellus Bennett anyway?
