National Cereal Day provides amusing fodder for J.J. Watt Twitter musings
J.J. Watt found himself in quite the conundrum Thursday, which marks National Cereal Day, as the Houston Texans superstar challenged himself to whittle down all his many favorite cereals into a top-five list.
In a series of amusing, yet deeply contemplative tweets, Watt agonized over how to go about ranking his top breakfast cereals.
Trying to rank the top 5 cereals is harder than trying to figure out the top 4 teams for the College Football Playoff. Been sitting here for 20 minutes having a full blown debate with myself.#NationalCerealDay— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) March 7, 2019
That’s the thing… I start to think “well that is obviously in the top 5” but then as I go, I have 9 “for sure top 5’s” https://t.co/fC8bHCbFuT— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) March 7, 2019
Count Chocula is on the fringe of the top 5. I think it’s somewhere in the 5-8 range. The chocolate milk left in the bowl at the end bumps it’s resume up for sure. https://t.co/1wvow6fn51— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) March 7, 2019
Despite all the hemming and hawing and soul-searching, Watt was unable to restrict his favorite cereals to only five.
Ok, here’s my list. If you don’t like it, too bad for you make your own— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) March 7, 2019
Cinn. Toast Crunch
Honey Bunches of Oats
Fruit Loops/Fruity Pebbles
Count Chocula/Cocoa Pebbles
Given every cereal that cracked Watt’s list is more or less sugar in bowl, odds are he might hear from the Texans’ dietician about making better breakfast choices.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt — who already made an appearance in the string of tweets — razzed his older brother over being unable to pare down the cereal list to a more manageable size.
That Is Not A Top List! You Named 14!!!— TJ Watt (@_TJWatt) March 7, 2019
The Texans even got in on the action as well by posting a photograph of Watt aggressively consuming an entire box of Crunch Berries, which presumably is his favorite cereal since it sits atop his list.

Perhaps Watt is correct in the assertion that it’s impossible to come up with one’s top-five list of breakfast cereals. If there’s ever a time to contemplate such deep issues, it would be the day dedicated to them.
Happy Cereal Day, folks.
