LaVar Ball: Lonzo better than LeBron, Lakers won’t win title without him
LaVar Ball, after a remarkably quiet season up to this point, has been out in full force this week amid rumors son Lonzo Ball could get traded by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ball, never one to shy away from controversial comments fueled by hyperbole, starred in a Theater of the Absurd production during an appearance Thursday on FS1’s “Undisputed.”
For one, Ball argued that the Lakers will never win an NBA title without Lonzo. If that was not bad enough, the elder Ball went on to argue that his son is a a better basketball player than LeBron James.
"[The Lakers] trade my son they'll never get a championship. … LeBron James without Lonzo is not going to win a championship in L.A. I guarantee that." — @Lavarbigballer pic.twitter.com/619VBSAxWz— UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) February 7, 2019

For what it’s worth, Ball also said Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson is “just a face,” whatever that means.
It was believed that James’ presence on the Lakers played a huge role in Ball receding into the shadows this season, but that time has clearly passed.
Ball earlier this week went scorched earth on the Lakers organization amid trade rumors involving his son, calling the embattled Luke Walton “the worst coach” Lonzo has ever had.
Add in his appearance Thursday on “Undisputed,” it’s clear that Ball is once again ready for his closeup.
