Patriots mascot hospitalized by Jamal Adams’ tackle at Pro Bowl?
Jamal Adams believed he was delivering some comeuppance on behalf of all the New England Patriots haters Wednesday by tackling the team’s mascot at a Pro Bowl event. Little did the New York Jets star know that his antics ended up sending Pat Patriot to the hospital.
Adams himself originally tweeted out the video in which he is shown laying out the Patriots mascot.

Adams delivered a pretty crushing blow, indeed, given how his entire body weight came crashing down on Pat Patriot.
On Thursday, the Jets safety weighed in on the aftermath of his act of aggression on the Patriots mascot, saying the NFL has been calling him about it.
Since most of us saw Jamal Adams’s video of him tackling the Patriot mascot…he’s been getting heat for it… Does he regret it? pic.twitter.com/ecG2zQVnO7— Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) January 24, 2019
Later, Adams told ESPN’s Michael DiRocco that he regretted injuring Pat Patriot and possibly sending the mascot to the hospital.
“He [the mascot] was running around and everybody was booing him, so I said, ‘You know what? Let me go tackle him,’” Adams said. “I didn’t hit him that hard, man. All jokes aside, I didn’t hit him that hard. I don’t know what’s really going on, but they did tell me he’s in the hospital.
“My intention was never to hurt him. it was all about just a joke but I definitely want to check on him and make sure everything is good. At the end of the day we were out here just having fun and it wasn’t nothing intentionally to try to hurt the guy.”
DiRocco adds in his reporting that the NFL has not confirmed whether or not Pat Patriot was indeed hospitalized.
Hopefully, the Patriots mascot is no worse for wear as a result of Adams’ hijinks. As the old saying goes, though, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
