Jon Gruden provides 2K chicken wings to North Team at Senior Bowl
Jon Gruden is in Mobile, Ala., this week for the Senior Bowl, and the Oakland Raiders head coach treated members of the North Team to an absurd amount of chicken wings.
Raiders reporter Eddie Paskal tweeted out an image of the spread provided by Gruden, which included a whopping 2,000 wings.
Bunch of happy dudes on the North roster tonight.— Eddie Paskal (@EddiePaskal) January 24, 2019
Coach Gruden bought them 2,000 wings…. Here’s what 2,000 wings look like, by the way. pic.twitter.com/4t6Nag4T1B
A pretty nice treat, to say the least. Odds are the players enjoyed feasting upon all that chicken wing goodness.
Paskal added in a subsequent tweet which kind of wing Gruden prefers.
For those of you curious, Coach told me that his favorite wings are the original/medium ones.— Eddie Paskal (@EddiePaskal) January 24, 2019
A purist – I dig that.
Good to know. Good to know.
This is not the first time Gruden has made a kind gesture this week. The Raiders head coach reached out to Sean Payton to offer condolences to his NFL coaching colleague in the wake of the New Orleans Saints’ devastating loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL Championship Game.
If there’s one person who knows what it’s like to lose a playoff game amid controversial circumstances, it’s Gruden, having been on the losing end of the infamous “Tuck Rule” game.
