Richard Sherman reacts to Antonio Brown’s rumored interest in 49ers

Antonio Brown is said to have an interest in joining the San Francisco 49ers should his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers organization come to an end.

With all signs seemingly pointing in the direction of the Steelers and Brown having reached a point of no return, 49ers star Richard Sherman was asked this week if San Francisco would be a good fit for the disgruntled wide receiver.

So, when we saw Sherm hitting up Catch in L.A. on Thursday night, we had to ask if he’d welcome the WR with open arms, reports TMZ Sports.

“Good luck to him,” the defensive back told us — and when asked if he had advice to Brown added, “Go wherever makes you happy.”

Word of Brown’s purported interest in heading to the Bay Area began with a tweet from 49ers tight end Greg Kittle, who sent a tweet in Brown’s direction early New Year’s Day morning, one that Niners wideout Trent Taylor reacted to before Brown himself responded in cryptically positive fashion.

Interestingly, Sherman got in on the Twitter banter as well, hinting he did not know what to think of Brown’s tweet via emojis and an “LOL.”

Jerry Rice subsequently threw fuel on the fire by stating Brown want to join the 49ers “really bad.”

Art Rooney II, meanwhile, met with the media Wednesday, and much of the discussion centered around the Brown saga, which the Steelers owner called “disappointing.”

Rooney did not mince words when expressing displeasure over Brown’s role in creating the drama. The Steelers owner nevertheless indicated there have been no trade talks involving the disgruntled wide receiver.

With all that in mind, despite the frenetic nature in which developments on the Brown front have been occurring in recent weeks, odds are nothing of substance will happen anytime soon.
