Did Vince Carter hint at playing next season after game vs. Raptors?

Vince Carter very well may have made the final appearance of his lengthy NBA career in his old stomping grounds of Toronto during Tuesday’s tilt between his Hawks and the Raptors. Then again, perhaps not.

Following the Hawks’ 104-101 road loss — during which the Raptors icon received a well-deserved standing ovation when entering the game in the first quarter — Carter reportedly hinted that his retirement may not be imminent with an interesting comment to a member of the Scotiabank Arena security staff.

Carter’s offhand remark obviously could mean many different things, but given how the soon-to-be 42-year-year-old himself appears unsure about retirement certainly makes it seem like another go-round is a distinct possibility.

Whether or not Carter does indeed return for what would be an NBA-record 22nd season in 2019-20 of course remains to be seen. The fact alone that Carter could be considering another season is a testament to his uncanny longevity.

Either way, Carter was certainly grateful for the love Raptors fans showed him on Tuesday night.
