Watch: Heat fan runs on court, grabs ball after free throw
A Miami Heat fan presumably got himself in quite a bit of trouble with some boneheaded antics that left the players on the court stupefied during Tuesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets at AmericanAirlines Arena.
With less than a second remaining in the game and the Heat down 102-99, a fan donning a Dwyane Wade jersey trotted out on the court after the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray converted a free throw. He proceeded to snatch the ball away before an official could grab it as it bounced in the lane and yelled, “Don’t do that!” at Murray.

Not surprisingly, everyone involved in the game, including Murray and Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, were left confused by the on-court invasion.

Possibly lost amid the fan’s unnecessary interference in an otherwise exciting game was Nikola Jokic’s clutch bucket with 2.4 seconds remaining that ultimately led to the Nuggets’ 103-99 victory.

As far as the evidently embittered and completely dunderheaded Heat fan is concerned, odds are he was escorted off the court by arena security, possibly spent the night in jail and presumably will face some kind of ban. One has to wonder if it was all worth it.
