Watch: Santa Claus tosses around the pigskin during Giants practice
Santa Claus made a surprise appearance at New York Giants practice Friday, and from the footage provided, Ol’ St. Nick can really sling the pigskin.

NJ.com provided video of Santa Claus tossing around some footballs during the open part of Giants practice. Despite his non-football-playing physique — after all, his little round belly will shake when he laughs like a bowl full of jelly — Santa Claus put on an impressive performance.
It turns out that Santa Claus was in fact a Giants staffer who received some interesting praise from head coach Pat Shurmur.
“The same as when he’s not wearing the suit,” Shurmur said when asked about Santa’s football skills, via the New York Post. “He carries the pads well, carries the suit well.”
While Santa’s presence probably helped get the players into the holiday spirit, it probably did not temper their disappointment over the news that injured Odell Beckham Jr. will not suit up against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, missing his third straight game.
Santa Claus is practicing (can you find him?). But Odell Beckham Jr. only rode stationary bike during open part of practice, as did Russell Shepard and Spencer Pulley. Didn’t see Alec Ogletree either. All four expected to be out. #Giants pic.twitter.com/PJsCCHm3sC— Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) December 21, 2018
No “Ho! Ho! Ho!” exclamations presumably were uttered at practice over the above developments on the player injury front.
