Stephen Curry responds to young girl’s letter about lack of Curry 5s in girl sizes

Stephen Curry took the time this week to respond to a nine-year-old girl’s letter about how his popular Under Armour Curry 5 sneakers don’t come in girl sizes. More specifically, she pointed out how there are no girl-sized Curry 5 sneakers available on Under Armour’s website.

Not only did the Golden State Warriors superstar pen a thoughtful, handwritten letter, he also assured the young girl that he would make things right. To top it all off, Curry also offered the nine-year-old a reward for bringing the issue to light.

Riley Harrison got things started by writing a letter to Curry expressing her disappointment over Under Armour’s website having no Curry 5 available under the the girls’ section, especially with her basketball season on the horizon.

“I know you support girl athletes because you have two daughters and you host an all girls basketball camp,” Riley’s letter read in part. “I hope you can work with Under Armour to change this because girls want to rock the Curry 5’s too.”

Curry took to Twitter on Thursday to provide a copy of the letter he wrote back to Riley, in which he pledged to “fix the issue.” Further, Curry promised to send Riley a pair of Curry 5s right away and assured her she will be “one of the first kids to get the Curry 6.”

The Warriors star also noted in his letter that he and Under Armour “have something special in store for International Women’s Day on March 8th.”

Curry saved the best for last, adding that Riley is invited to the Warriors game on March 8 as his guest to “celebrate” with him.

There’s not much one can say about Curry’s correspondence except kudos for a job fantastically done.

Even better? Curry already has made good on his word. As NBC Bay Area notes, there are now Curry 5 sneakers available for purchase under the girls section of the Under Armour website.

Bravo.
