Jimmy Butler donuts highlight Jimmy Butler’s introductory Sixers presser
Jimmy Butler was officially introduced by the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, along with Justin Patton, the other player involved in the weekend’s trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Butler’s arrival not surprisingly was met with great fanfare, but the highlight of the entire spectacle has to be how there were actually Jimmy Butler donuts at the press conference.
That’s right, spread out on a table were pastries featuring the image of Butler in a Sixers uniform, as noted on Twitter by ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

Several dispatches via Twitter chronicled the less whimsical — not to mention less sugary — aspects of Butler’s media session. The superstar spent a fair amount of time executing a PR job for his own benefit, presumably in light of how his reputation as a team player was called into question due to his arguably questionable conduct with the T-Wolves following his trade demand.

It will be interesting to see how Butler meshes with the Sixers’ young lineup, specifically Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, given his purported issues with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins in Minnesota. On Markelle Fultz, who again appears to be suffering from a major case of the yips with his shot, Butler played nice.
“I know some of the people who know him and they tell me how great he wants to be. So, as long as he’s going hard and giving his all every day, the guy has my respect,” Butler said, via NJ.com. “I just want him to go out there and play hard and be who he is and stick to his strengths. I know he’s going to thrive and be successful.”
The Sixers’ Butler experiment will be an interesting one to monitor without question. That said, the highlight of his short tenure with the team for now, however, has to be the Jimmy Butler donuts.
