Bryce Harper ‘honored’ to be cover athlete for ‘MLB The Show 19’
Bryce Harper has been tabbed as the cover athlete for “MLB The Show 19” and the superstar slugger took to Twitter to indicate he’s honored by the decision.
However, exactly which team’s jersey Harper will don remains uncertain with free agency on the horizon, something Harper himself notes in his tweet that features a cover with him wearing a white-and-black hooded sweatshirt.

The Washington Nationals are expected to make Harper a qualifying offer ahead of Friday’s 5 p.m. ET deadline, reports The Washington Post. The slugger is expected to reject the offer, a decision Harper has 10 days to contemplate, although it’s not likely he will wait that long, as the one-year deal is worth only $17.9 million, exceedingly below Harper’s market value.
There obviously will be no shortage of suitors in the Bryce Harper sweepstakes, including the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees, among several others. Determining which team will come out as victors, however, is a veritable crapshoot at this point.
Until then, a hoodie will serve as Harper’s de facto uniform and placeholder until the superstar chooses his next team. Good thing for both Harper and “MLB The Show 19,” the game’s release date is not until March 26, 2019.
