Dodgers take out full-page ad in Boston paper to congratulate Red Sox
The Los Angeles Dodgers organization has exhibited considerable class amid the disappointment over their second straight loss in the World Series by taking out a full-page ad to congratulate the Boston Red Sox for the organization’s ninth championship.
The ad, which was published in Wednesday’s edition of the Boston Globe, bears the following message: “The Los Angeles Dodgers Congratulate the Boston Red Sox On Winning The 2018 World Series Championship.”

It goes without saying the Dodgers deserve much praise for its congratulatory gesture given the organizational heartbreak after losing in five games to an outstanding Red Sox squad.
The Boston Globe’s report on the Dodgers’ full-page ad notes that the Red Sox, after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2013 World Series, took out their own full-page ad in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to express thanks for the “warm welcome” the team received in the Missouri city.
“Your region, its people, and the entire Cardinals organization represent everything that’s great about baseball,’’ the ad read.
It is always refreshing whenever the occasion arises when a professional sports organization exhibits such sportsmanship and class. All credit goes to the Dodgers and any other team that follows their lead and rises to the occasion in such a manner.
